The history of pizza dates back to Roman times when it served as an edible pad, and modern pizza that we all know originates in the 17th century, in Naples. One of the most popular pizzas, Margherita, was first made in the 18th century by Neapoletan baker Raffaele Esposito in the honour of the Queen of Savoy. Port'Alba in Naples is widely regarded as the oldest pizzeria, established in 1783 and is still working today. There the pizza is prepared following the original recipe: the dough is kneaded and rolled out by hand, without any mechanical aid, and it is baked at temperature of 485°C for 60 to 90 seconds. Pizzara follows this Neapoletan tradition and wants to offer you pizzas made following the original procedure so that you can enjoy the best taste of the real pizza.
